When world governments and media were asking people to hide and run from the new killer bug, a group of filmmakers were busy making a movie about the healing power of God and its manifestation via his chosen people on this planet. Thus came out the 2021 faith-based indie production I’m Not Him.
Written and directed by Steve Grimaldi, I’m Not Him features John Paladino as Jimmy Valentino – all-American, God-fearing family man, husband, father of two – who is living his happy family life until he is diagnosed with cancer. The scare is temporary as he comes out of it unscathed but the experience rekindles his faith in Jesus and gives himself to healing others with prayers. Fame and trouble await him as people start coming to him, begging for his healing miracle in their lives.
Spiritual, faith-based dramas make the perfect indie productions but it does take talent and dedication to make the art shine. I’m Not Him passes with flying colors in these departments. Paladino fits perfectly in his character and earns applause for his acting talent. The talent in most of the supporting cast is satisfactory. It’s an upbeat story with hope and faith standing at the center of the plot.
The movie ends on an emotional and inspiriting note, not to be divulged here for obvious reasons. Enjoy and be inspired watching I’m Not Him. For a limited time, the movie has been made available for free viewing on YouTube.
